Frank Chongwoo Park is professor of mechanical engineering at Seoul National University with affiliate appointment in the SNU interdisciplinary program in AI. His research interests span robotics, computer vision and machine learning. He is a former editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Robotics, developer of the EDX course Robot Mechanics and Control I-II, and coauthor (with Kevin Lynch) of the textbook Modern Robotics: Mechanics, Planning, and Control. He received degrees from MIT (EECS) and Harvard (Applied Mathematics), and is a fellow of the IEEE and member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology and the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. He served as president of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (2022–2023) and is founder and CEO of industrial AI company Saige.
